Like Snowflakes Falling Down in Grace

The eyes - they wander hopelessly
to this and that, and around and around
the mind - it meanders aimlessly
stumbling over interests to confound.
The fingers tap-dance maddeningly
over restless thighs and laps and tops
the thumbs - they thrumble listlessly
while eyes pore over digital shops.
The story is forgotten fast
the excitement does not seem so strong
wonderment is not built to last
novelty wears off before too long.
The moments drift steady and sure
they gather up an age of time
like snowflakes falling down in grace
like ticking clocks - a dozen a dime...
